That's a complicated way to calculate that value. It's much easier to do it using the ratio of the molar masses. That is why I do not understand the point of the whole exercise. Not your fault.

I would expect both viscosity and surface tension to increase with increasing molecular forces. This seems to be true for viscosity, but the surface tension doesn't seem to follow the same trend and that puzzles me. Why does ethanol have a lower surface tension than acetone even though ethanol has hydrogen bonds and acetone does not? Acetone has a higher polarity (2.88 D) than diethyl ether (1.15 D), presumably because acetone is less symmetrical -- the oxygen sticks out more, but neither of these has hydrogen bonds. Ethanol has one hydrogen bonding site, while ethylene glycol has two. So I would expect that for both surface tension and viscosity we should get diethyl ether < acetone < ethanol < ethylene glycol. But this is not what I see.

it should be 93.5 in so the answer should be 603.22cm2 with becomes 6.0x10^2 cm2...you're answers tend to be off by a little bit here and there. I hope this adds context for anyone watching. Anyways, I like your videos great help in checking answers for correctness with the process you go through!

Hi! I tried solving this another way but it didn't work.... How come I wouldn't be able to use the 25m and 40m information to get the angle, then use than angle in solving for x and y direction velocities? (I.e., drawing 2 triangles, one with distance and one with velocities). How come this doesn't work? I wouldn't think to use the time equation here, intuitively...
